About Us
South Georgia Drama KIDZ is a non-profit children's theatre group that performs in front of live audiences. We offer a safe, friendly environment to learn drama while developing character, poise, collaboration leadership and speaking skills. South Georgia Drama KIDZ is located in Valdosta, Georgia and welcome children from our surrounding area.
David & Maggie Smith
We are Maggie and David Smith were completely new to theatre when we enrolled our son as young child. We were thrilled to see how excited he was to be on stage. We started helping with rehearsals and sets as well as planning and completing fundraising activities and crafts.
We decided to open our own theatre in 2018 when we saw just how many children, just like our own, come to life on the stage and how proud they are of their accomplishments. Many kids came in shy and unsure and left proud, outspoken and with new friendships that will last a lifetime. We have had the opportunity to grow many great friendships ourselves and will continue to do so.
Maggie is a stay at home mom and is responsible for the day to day paperwork, scheduling, design and many other aspects of our theatre. While David is an Industrial Mechanic who builds sets, sets up fundraising and projects.
We both are very excited to have this opportunity to meet, teach and grow with every show. We are glad to have so many children and parents sharing their gifts and talents with us each day and can’t wait to meet many more.
Thank you for looking into South Georgia Drama KIDZ where children are encouraged to be themselves and the entire family is welcomed to be a part of us. We have some great things coming up and will have throughout the year so friendships can grow and kids can be, well kids.
See you at the show, stop by and say hi.

Lu Baxa & Wendell Campbell
Hello, we are Lu Baxa and Wendell Campbell. We have been married for over 20 years and have a teenage daughter, Baxa Campbell. Lu is a local CPA and operates her firm from home and serves as the current Treasurer for South Georgia Drama KIDZ. Wendell proudly served the US Air Force for 28 years and continues his love for aircraft in the civilian workforce. His current role with the theatre is Vice President.
We joined the theatre world in January of 2016 and it has changed our lives. We struggled like so many parents looking for that "one thing" our child was passionate about. After many attempts of trying and quitting various activities, some folks met our child and was adamant she get involved with theatre. It fit like a glove.
We are excited to be a part of the organization of South Georgia Drama KIDZ. We have watched so many children blossom on stage and gain such confidence along with some amazing friendships. We would love to share this journey with you and your family. Come join our drama!
